Officina Profumo Farmaceutica Di Santa Maria Novella is the oldest apothecary in the world. In 1221, Dominican friars came to Florence, Italy and established the use of medicinal herbs for the monks' infirmary. In 1612, the pharmacy opened to the public and continued to serve products following the same recipes and formulas invented by the Dominican monks. Since then, it has become renowned across nations for its history, craft and quality of products.
As part of an internship at Florence University of the Arts, our team worked on this rebrand. Tasked with the challenge to update the brand by giving them a brand new look & feel, logo, and packaging for several of their most well-known products. I illustrated a pattern chosen for the final design, inspired by the facade of the famous Santa Maria Novella church in Florence, Italy.
